Seaside walks

Buncrana Boasts a 5km Revitalising walkway along the coast. The pathway is Fully tarmacked Pushchair & Wheelchair Friendly. The Path starts 300 metres from The hotel and continues along several beaches such as Buncrana Shore front, Neds Point, Porthaw Beach, and Stragil Strand. It also passes the Historic Fr Hegarties Rock Cliff Views & Neds Point Fort. Walking at a gentle pace the walkway takes approx 1.5 hours each way.

Buncrana Playpark

Buncrana playpark is approx. 300 metres from the hotel and has a large range of equipment for all age groups From a zip line to a Tennis court & a football pitch.

Golf Clubs

Buncrana has two golf clubs, Buncrana Golf club is within walking distance from the hotel to North west Regional Golf club which is a 5 minute drive from The Lake of Shadows. Ballyliffen Golf club, Home to the Irish Open 2018 is a 20 minute drive from the hotel.

Leisure Centre

Guests of the Lake of Shadows have complimentary use of the Inishowen Gateways Leisure centres Facilities. Full size swimming pool, Steam Room Sauna & Fully equipped Gym.

Dunree Fort

Dunree military fort is a decommissioned Military fort converted into an interactive museum. The museum grounds are free to access and have spectacular views. The views really have to be seen to be believed. One pathway up the steps takes you to a view of portban beach. You have a panoramic view of the local countryside.
